A Tiny Daydream
It felt like the first day of school walking down the old corridor of an almost mid-twentieth century flat. I could hear the birds chirping and feel the cool air on my shins as I approached the door –as if it were fall.
The Sun is just beginning to crest but the junkies are still keeping their beds cozy. It’s mostly quiet out here, except for the birds, and soon the garden will be awake with butterflies and fresh blooms. All the insects will crescendo into their orchestral swarmy chaotic and the dragonflies will play their best concerto when the Sun shows full belly, centered atop a pastel Florida sky.
Then I will return to my flat, wait for my coffee to steep, and greet the day with hope. But still, I get lonely. It’s true, I have new projects and inspiration but your body and your smile are all the more inspiring and I cannot wait for your return.
